This privacy policy applies to moecompany.com and its subdomains operated by Moe & Company AG, including moepinion.moecompany.com, and is issued in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (nDSG, in force since 1 September 2023) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Data we collect

Server logs. When you visit this website, our hosting server automatically records standard HTTP log data: IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URL, pages accessed, and timestamp. As an IP address can constitute personal data, we process this information on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating a secure website (see “Legal basis” below). The data is retained for up to 30 days for security and diagnostic purposes and then automatically deleted; we do not use it to identify individual visitors.

Analytics (Umami). This site uses Umami, a privacy-focused, open-source analytics tool. Umami is cookieless and does not track users across sessions or websites. It records pseudonymous usage data: page views, referrer, device and browser type, and approximate location (country, region, city) derived from your IP address. Your IP address itself is not stored; a daily-rotating identifier groups page views within a single visit and cannot be used to recognise you on a later day, so we do not build profiles of individual visitors. The Umami instance is self-hosted on our own server in Switzerland, so no data is shared with third-party analytics providers.

Email contact. If you contact us via email, we process your email address and the contents of your message in order to respond to your inquiry. This data is not shared with third parties and is retained only as long as necessary to handle your request.

No cookies

This website does not use cookies for tracking or advertising purposes. The dark/light mode preference you select is stored locally in your browser's localStorage and never transmitted to our servers.

Legal basis

Processing of server logs and usage analytics is based on our legitimate interest in operating, securing, and improving the website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR / Art. 31 nDSG). Processing of email inquiries is based on our legitimate interest in responding to you and, where your inquiry concerns a potential engagement, on pre-contractual steps taken at your request (Art. 6(1)(f) and (b) GDPR).

Recipients and data transfers

We do not sell your personal data. The only third party with technical access is our hosting provider, Infomaniak (Switzerland), which acts as our processor and operates the server on which this website and our analytics run. All data is stored and processed in Switzerland; no data is transferred outside Switzerland or the EU/EEA.

No automated decision-making

We do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR.

Your rights

Under the nDSG and GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data, and to object to processing or request data portability. To exercise these rights, contact us at info@moecompany.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) or the supervisory authority in your EU member state.
